Plan Insurance Brokers is an independent, market leading commercial insurance brokerage that has operated for over 25 years. They arrange high quality cover and provide intelligent insurance solutions to UK businesses. I successfully pitched and won the tender to refresh their branding, including the design of the website.
Originally, Plan’s core market had been taxi and commercial car insurance, but with their expansion into other commercial markets, the brand and website needed to adapt. The website is a key sales tool and since many of Plan’s customers are ‘mobile’, it needs to work effectively across devices. While functional, the previous site lacked visual engagement and a clear page structure. The same image header appeared on all pages which made it difficult to distinguish one product from another, and several elements and logos competed together on the page. I felt the website could also benefit from testimonials and case studies. These would reflect the same level of customer engagement that Plan had successfully fostered on social media.
In line with the new brand, I divided the website into market sectors and colour-coded them accordingly. This navigation is clear from the menu and homepage which features the three main sectors and their corresponding image and colour. The homepage includes quick links to quote forms and contact numbers. Including video testimonials and Feefo ratings support the key propositions. On the sector pages, the visuals align with the print collateral by using cut-out objects on bold, colour backgrounds. Below this is a brief description of each insurance product with its own customised icon. A simple accordian menu displays FAQs and other information. Other key sections are the blog and customer pages.
